What is the Chrome extension for?

  • The Clearing Chrome extension is designed to facilitate the matching of Airbnb payouts in your Clearing transaction section. It automatically retrieves details from Airbnb deposits, breaks down payments for each booking, and maps them to your assets and owners. This functionality is also available for VRBO deposits when you receive deposits directly from VRBO (i.e., not through Stripe or another payment processor). Additionally, we have a direct integration with Stripe that allows for the same functionality, ensuring seamless matching and categorization of deposits.

How do I use the Chrome extension?

To use the Chrome extension for Clearing, follow these steps:

  • Access the Extension:

Go to the integration page and navigate to manage Airbnb integration step 2. Download the extension.

  • Navigate to Airbnb:

Visit Airbnb.com, go to your account's hosting section, then navigate to earnings and select "show all paid."

  • Use the Clearing Extension:

  1. Click on the Clearing extension (or go to manage extensions and pin the extension).

  2. Select "push last 12 months" for an initial historical data sync.

  3. Enable auto-sync for automatic updates every few hours.

  4. Manually send data for specific periods as needed.

Even if you send the same payout twice, it will only be reconciled once, so there's no need to worry about duplicate entries.

Do I need to use Chrome?

  • Yes, the Chrome extension is specifically designed for Chrome or any browser based on Chrome (such as Brave, Arc, and Edge).

  • Ensure your Airbnb account is open in Chrome for the auto-sync to work effectively.

What do I need to configure to setup the VRBO integration?

  1. Go to the Clearing VRBO Integration Section:

Navigate to the VRBO integration section in Clearing.

  2. Enter Your VRBO Email Address:

Enter the email address connected to your VRBO account in the provided field. This ensures that when you send data, it's associated with your specific VRBO account.

  3. Log Into Your VRBO Account:

If you receive VRBO payments directly from VRBO (not through Stripe or another payment processor), make sure you're logged into your VRBO account.

  4. Configure the System:

Once configured, the Clearing system will use the provided email address to match and process data received from your VRBO account via the Chrome extension.

This setup ensures seamless integration and accurate matching of your VRBO payment data in Clearing.

Can I use the extension with multiple Airbnb accounts?

  • Yes, you can use the Clearing Chrome extension with multiple Airbnb accounts. In the integration settings, you can add multiple Airbnb accounts.

  • When you use the extension and click on "push last 12 months," it will recognize the currently logged-in Airbnb account and match the amounts appropriately.

  • This allows you to link and manage data from multiple Airbnb accounts within the Clearing platform seamlessly.

I’m getting an error message “Failed to fetch”, what should I do?

If you encounter a "Failed to fetch" error, consider the following steps:

  1. Check your internet connection.

  2. Ensure your Airbnb account is open in Chrome.

  3. Go to Airbnb.com, navigate to your account's hosting section, then go to earnings and select "show all paid."

  4. Verify that the Chrome extension is properly installed and pinned in the URL bar, or go to manage extensions and pin the Clearing extension.

  5. If the issue persists, reach out to Clearing support for further assistance.

Follow the same procedure for VRBO if you encounter similar issues.

The bank deposits are not matching with Airbnb data, why?

If after pushing data from Airbnb to Clearing using the Chrome extension, the bank deposit in Transactions is not matched with Airbnb data, it might be due to the following reasons:

  • Merchant Name Mismatch:

The merchant name (column to/from) in the bank transaction in Clearing doesn't contain "airbnb." You can edit the merchant's name in the transaction details to correct this.

  • Reconciliation Delay:

It can take up to 5-10 minutes to reconcile the deposit in Clearing. Please wait a few minutes and check again.

  • Bank Account Mismatch:

The bank associated with the transaction has different last 4 digits than what Airbnb is sending payouts to. Go to your Account details in Clearing and edit the last 4 digits to match the ones in Airbnb payout details.

By addressing these issues, you can ensure proper reconciliation of your Airbnb data in Clearing.
